My name is Lisa Powell, I am a clinical psychologist. My role is to provide guidance to my clients, as they take steps towards positive life changes. These changes may focus on healing and developing healthier patterns and habits. Together, we explore and identify specific challenges and stressors that detract from having a more fulfilling life.
My therapeutic approach provides support, and practical feedback as we address personal life challenges. It focuses on blending complementary methods and techniques to create a personalized plan for healing for each client. I have found this approach has helped my clients increase self-awareness and acceptance, build on their strengths, attain personal growth and reach their desired goals.
It should be noted that group therapy is my preferred therapeutic modality. In my experience, I have found group therapy to be one of the most effective and impactful forms of therapy available. The experiential nature of group therapy helps people learn more about themselves, and improve their interpersonal relationships. This environment allows the healing to happen at a much deeper level than individual therapy. It helps to address feelings of isolation, depression, and/or anxiety.
